Shane Scott

Shane Scott is a Lawyer at Mike Murphy Law Group and practises from the Moncton office. He acts for injured people in car accident and other personal injury claims, and for people charged with criminal offences.

Shane Scott Graduated From UNB Law in the Top 10 of His Class

Shane was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. His first degree was a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at Dalhousie University, with distinction, in 2021.

In 2024 he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of New Brunswick in the top 10 of his class, with distinction and on the Dean’s List.

Winner of the 2024 McKelvey Cup and Four Academic Prizes

Shane mooted through law school. He competed in the Gale Cup, the McKelvey Cup and the Sopinka Cup. He and his partner Caitlin Grogan won the 2024 McKelvey Cup Atlantic Trial Competition, and Shane took the Best Closing Argument Prize on his own.

He also won the Emond Montgomery Prize in Property, the Leycester D’Arcy, K.C. Prize in Evidence, the Allen Earle Scholarship and the New Brunswick Law Foundation Scholarship. He sat on the Law Faculty Council as a Law Student Society representative for all three years and pushed through the change to the first-year grading ranges.

An Operatic Tenor Who Still Teaches

Shane still sings as an operatic tenor and chorister. He taught voice and piano before law and still volunteers as a soloist and teacher.
