These guides state the law the firm works with every day, chapter by chapter, for New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. They are reference works, not advice on your case: the same question on your facts is answered on the first call, which is free, and a lawyer takes it.

How the Injury and Criminal Law Guides Are Organised

Each guide opens with a landing chapter that says what the guide covers and who it is for. The chapters that follow each answer one question, and the rail beside every chapter lists the whole guide so nothing has to be read in order. Every chapter shows the date it was last revised.

Where the Guides Come From

The chapters cite the statutes and decisions they rest on, from CanLII and the provincial legislatures, and the pages for each claim type state how the firm runs such a file: the practice areas carry the province-by-province rules, and what we can do for you states the first steps on a new file. Where a figure or rule needs a lawyer’s confirmation, the chapter says so plainly rather than guessing.
