Biography

Shane was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. Growing up, Shane had a passion for music which led him to complete a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance, graduating from Dalhousie University with distinction in 2021.

In 2024, Shane graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of New Brunswick among the top 10 of his class, graduating with both distinction and Dean’s List. During his time in law school, Shane was an avid competitive mooter. He competed in the Gale Cup Moot, the McKelvey Cup, and the Sopinka Cup. Shane and his partner Caitlin Grogan won the 2024 McKelvey Cup Atlantic Trial Competition, and, individually, Shane was the recipient of the Best Closing Argument Prize. Shane was also the recipient of the Emond Montgomery Prize in Property, the Leycester D’Arcy, K.C. Prize in Evidence, the Allen Earle Scholarship, and the New Brunswick Law Foundation Scholarship. As a member of the Law Student Society, Shane was a student representative on the Law Faculty Council for all three years of his degree and advocated for the newly changed grading ranges for first year students.

Outside of the office, Shane continues to sing as an operatic tenor and chorister. As a former voice and piano teacher, he often volunteers his time as a soloist and teacher.
